American flags raised for holiday celebrations

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is having its 28th Annual AILA California Chapters Conference on Thursday, November 12th, 2015 in San Diego, and San Jose Immigration Attorney Timothy D. Widman is scheduled to lead a discussion panel. Titled Ethics for Immigration Attorneys in California, the panelists will discuss pressing issues and concerns raised by Assembly Bill 60 (AB 60) and how it pertains to immigration lawyers across the state. Specifically, the panel will focus on the ethics surrounding AB 60 and the State Bar’s regulation of immigration attorneys in California, addressing specifically retainer agreements, competence, and communication.

The discussion is scheduled to take place in Track 1 of Thursday’s events at 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The conference itself is taking place at Loews Coronado Bay Resort, only miles from the international border.

It is a true honor for Mr. Widman to be able to host this panel discussion, especially as it takes place at such a noteworthy and prestigious event. As a longtime member of the AILA himself, he fully understands the importance of ethics for California immigration lawyers and is proud to have the opportunity to lead the discussion.
